Equine Vitality's Vital Buffer contains Vistacell, active live yeast cell wall concentrated. This is intended to aid the reduction in acidosis and support vitality from the inside out.
How does it work?
Dried in granular form, Vistacell has an outer shell that serves to protect an inner core of live yeast cells. This process serves to improve stability, making Vistacell one of the most active live yeast products commercially available.
Vistacell live yeast acts as a probiotic and helps to balance the gut microflora, helps improve the growth and activity of fibre digesting bacteria in the gut. This can help reduce the growth of starch fermenting bacteria thus reducing the risk of hindgut acidosis and help with stabilising the gut microflora during periods of dietary and transportation stress.
The calcareous marine algae component of Vital Buffer is accredited by the Organic Trust and is made in a FEMAS, GMP+ and ISO 9001 accredited facility. The live yeast component has BRC certification and is made in an ISO 9001 accredited facility. The combination product is made in an UFAS certified facility.
- Calcium = 14.4g (30% of 50)
- Magnesium = 2.64g (5.5% of 50) naturally occurring
- Iodine = levels are very low being 30ppm/gram. This means that it is 0.03g/kg and 0.00144g per 50g fed.
- Zootechnical additive: Gut flora stabiliser Saccharomyces cerevisiae MUCL 39885 at recommended feed rate by the manufacturer provides 2.5 x 1010 CFU 4b1710
Feeding Rate:
- Horses: 50g per day
- Ponies: 25g per day
- One round 50ml scoop equals 50 grams
- Split between meals, can be increased in times of stress
- As with all new feeds, build up to the recommended daily feeding rate gradually
- 2 kilos will last 40 days, fed at 50 grams per day for a horse
